Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (University for Women)was founded in the year 1983 by Sri N.T.Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, with the fervent desire to train women students as better builders of the Nation and to inculcate skills of leadership in all aspects of life.The University was established under the Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam Act of 1983,which has come into force on the 14 of April 1983.It was started with ten faculties and 300 students and twenty staff members. Today the University has a student population of 2700 and an academic staff 250. This year the University is going to have 59 courses at the post-graduate and undergraduate level and a good component of research.                The campus  of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam is spread out in a lush green area of 138.43 acres. The University is situated at a distance of 3 km from the railway and bus stations of Tirupati.The campus has the necessary buildings to run its academic programmes and administrative machinery. There are separate buildings for Humanities and Sciences, University’s Administration, Central Library, University Auditorium, Sericulture Complex, and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and also an independent building for Computer Science and Computer centre.

       It is with pleasure that we announce The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition, 2011, September 22 -25, 2011 at IIT Madras. Collaborators this year are the Centre for Entrpreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at IIM Calcutta, TiE and the Indo-German Centre for Sustainability, IIT Madras.

         The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ is Asia's first and most prestigious sustainable/cleantech venture competition and has had India's flagship institutions. 


          Last year's competition was held with resounding success at IIT Madras from the 29th September to 3rd 2010. The Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ has galvanized India's brightest and most innovative youth of our country to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative technology solutions for tackling challenges such as climate change, energy security, and large scale environmental problems. 


             The winners ofThe Al Gore Sustainable Technology Venture Competition™ 2009 have gone on to found a company with VC funding worth $2.1 million. Participants of the earlier editions of the competition have gone on to win several laurels at other internationally reputed B-Plan competitions including the first 'Next Idea' Prize from New York City and the prestigious WagonR Think Big Challenge Competition to name a few.

            The main theme of this economix competition is Generating Ideas of ASEAN Youth to Transform ASEAN into Stable, Prosperous, and Highly Competitive Region through ASEAN Economic Community. Therefore, this competition heavily discusses on the knowledge of ASEAN Economic Community.


             This competition is opened for the undergraduate students from all South East Asia universities and other countries. This competition is conducted in English. For everyone who wants to participate in economix Competition, he/she must form a team which is consisted of two persons per team. One person is not allowed to be member of two teams or more. Each team must register themselves to the economix Committee by sending e-mail and attaching Registration Form which has been downloaded from official website of economix.


             This Registration Form must be filled by each team. The board of adjudicators is consisted of national academicians, economists, and practitioners. The economix Committee divides the competition into three stages.

           Participants should send the following:
