This is one of the famous Symposiums In Chennai. The department of Chemical Engineering since its inclusion in 1998 has a vision to be a dynamic department, with cohesive and exciting academic programs that define continuously the future of the chemical industries and with faculty and students who exercise leadership in education and research and have significant impact in solving human needs for the betterment of the world at large. This department is only the sixth chemical engineering department in Government/Government aided sector in this region of Tamilnadu and Pondicherry. The department building, with a sprawling floor area of 2000 Square meters, houses 3 class rooms, a departmental library, independent faculty rooms and 8 laboratories. The department proffers a B.Tech course in ‘Chemical Engineering’ with an annual intake of 30 students in the first year and 3 students in second year through lateral entry scheme. This department jointly with department of civil engineering also proffers an M.Tech course in ‘Environmental Engineering’.
The department is steered to achieve the pinnacles of excellence by a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members whose areas of specialization include petroleum and petrochemicals, process control and simulation, energy technology, process engineering and design. To further our pursuit of excellence, we seek faster an intellectually vibrant, collegial atmosphere with a keen appreciation for the values of diversity among our students, staff and faculty, and breadth in our research endeavors.

Sharpen your brain to find out what went wrong!! You just have to track down the misplaced equipments and data on the flow sheet and reinstate them with the apt equipments and devices. With a strong foundation in the basics of chemical engineering one can master this event.

Non Technical Events
SHORT FILM MAKING CONTEST
FORMAT:
- There is no any specific theme for short film.
- There will be an initial screening of the entries.
- The entries selected will be subjected to final screening by a panel of experts.
- After the final screening, the winners will be selected.
RULES:
- Participants must be from the same college and each of them must have their college ID’s and the authorized certificate of the video from the college. Maximum participants is 2.
- The maximum number of people behind & on the screen can’t be more than 15.
- The runtime for films should not exceed 10 minutes.
- The films will be subjected to an initial screening.
- The film must be based on ideas that are unique, novel and natural.
- Please avoid obscenity, pornography, excessive violence, advertisements and photo slideshows.In such a case, the submission will be rejected.
- Films in languages apart from English & Malayalam should be accompanied with subtitles. In your own interest please make sure that the subtitles are visible against the background throughout the film.
TREASURE HUNT
IEver wondered about finding hidden treasures like Indiana Jones did?….Ever felt that you were destined to be on the crew that set sail to Treasure Island?.…Get ready to live in those moments because this is your “Hot Spot”.
In take the Masquerade will be given a clue, which when deciphered will dictate a task which is to be completed in order to proceed further. There will be a total of 7 such tasks and the Winner will be the one who completes all the tasks taking the least possible time.

- Maximum of 4 members per team is permitted
- Members may be from different colleges
- Uses of phones or vehicles will lead to immediate disqualification
- Each task must be completed within a specific time limit failing which team cannot proceed to the next round Participants must bring your ID proof
