Energy is the most essential topic in the world which you need it for the overall development of the country.In India it is the most essential topic as India’s economy is experiencing tremendous growth over the past few decades at lion’s pace. It is heavily dependent on fossil fuels for its energy demand. This is leading to depletion of the conventional resources and has a major share in elevating global environmental pollution levels. Hence, led to the quest for sustainable alternative sources of energy for future generations. But there is slow pace development in this regard, there is imperative need to conserve conventional energy. So, in order to stimulate the student community to search for the sustainable eco-friendly energy sources and to bring out the latent talent in the youth with a zest for innovation and creativity in the area of Energy Conservation this symposium is being conducted by energy conservation mission.

Paper presentation:

1. The paper should be on any one of the above topics.
2. The length of the paper shall be restricted to Ten, A4 size papers with Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 spacing, inclusive of all enclosures.
3. The Abstract of the paper shall not exceed 250 words.
4. Maximum number of authors for a paper is limited to TWO.
5. TWO soft copies to be mailed to colleges.ecm@gmail.com and TWO hard copies must be submitted along with a registration fee of Rs 150/- per paper to Energy Conservation Mission.
6. The registration fee can be paid in the form of Cash/Demand Draft drawn in favour of “IEI – Energy Conservation Mission – APSC” payable at Hyderabad.
7. The Head of the Institution shall duly authorize the presentation material.
8. The author shall indicate his Name, Communication Address, Phone number, E-mail address, name of the college etc.
9.The presentation papers should reach the following address latest by August 5, 2011. 10. The authors of the selected papers will be intimated before August 10, 2011.
11. The idea should be original, no copy from the web site. If found the paper is disqualified.
12. There will be three attractive Prizes.
13. All Students, who had submitted papers will be provided with a participation certificate by IE(I).

Poster Presentation:
1. The Poster should be based on the “Theme” of the symposium i.e., Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy- Vision 2020.
2. The Poster should be prepared in the size of a standard drawing sheet
3. Maximum number of students per poster is limited TWO.
4. The students, who are interested to participate should register in advance with a registration
fee of Rs 150/- per poster.

ELIGIBILITY

These Fellowships are only for Indian Nationals studying in India.
The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, offers attractive fellowships (Rs. 4000 to Rs. 7000 p.m) and contingency grants (Four months fellowship p.a) for students studying in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. Selection to the program takes into account academic excellence and demonstrated interest in pursuing a research career. Selection procedures are different for SP (Basic Sciences) and SP (Medicine). All of them, however, include an interview for final selection.

Basic Sciences

Stream SA: Students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2011-2012 and have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.
Stream SX: Students enrolled in Class 12 (+2) of the academic year 2011 - 2012 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc/B.S./Int. M.Sc) for the session 2012 - 2013 provided they secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.
Stream SB: Students enrolled in 1st year B. Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc. during the academic year 2011–2012 and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination.


SP (Basic Sciences)

Students enrolled in XI/XII standard, I/II year (B.Sc../B.S./Int. M.Sc.) in Basic Sciences and I/II year B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. during the academic year 2011–2012 and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in the X & XII Standard Board Examinations. Additionally students enrolled in the II year B.Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc/B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. program must have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in the I year examination. A hard copy of an original and creative Science based research project done by the applicant is required to be submitted along with the application.
Note for Students applying for  Stream SP (Basic Sciences)
This has been started in order to  recognize and encourage creative and innovative talent of youngsters. The project done by the applicant as a part of this application must be based on a novel and innovative idea. The project can be experimental or theoretical in nature. However, the project must show that the applicant is creative and adventurous, and ready to explore. The project should not merely reflect use of certain techniques or reporting of routine experimentation, an improvement of an existing product or a technique may be accepted provided such improvement involves originality and creativity. One may try to incorporate some addition to the design or practical implementation that improves an existing technique. The main criteria that would be followed for selection for the interview would be originality and innovation. Only after these criteria are met, the level of sophistication and the nature of the project would be taken into consideration.


Stream SP (Medicine): Students joining First / Second Professional year of MBBS/B.V.Sc/BDS/B.Pharma program during the academic year 2011-2012. Students must have passed XII Standard Board Examination with 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in Science subjects or passed First Professional MBBS/B.V.Sc/BDS/B.Pharma exam with not less than 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks. A Copy of the Bio – Medical research project is required along with the application.
Note for Students applying for  Stream SP (Medicine)
KVPY application requires the report of a project, chosen and executed by the applicant and supervised by a teacher/professional in the relevant field, to be submitted along with the application. Based on the project submitted and scrutiny of application forms, short listed candidates will be called for an interview, which is the final stage of the selection procedure. The interview will be conducted at IISc., Bangalore. Application without the Bio-Medical project report will not be considered.
The project should not be a routine one (such as measuring a well known property of a material). Applicant's creativity and originality should be amply reflected in the project. The supervising teacher/professional is required to provide two recommendation letters on the form (supplied along with the application form) certifying the extent of the applicant's original contribution to the project.

    • The original copy of the challan of processing fee of Rs. 200/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST)

      should reach KVPY on or before 12.9.2011 (Monday).
  • KVPY will not be responsible for postal delays in receiving completed application.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Students Belonging to Minority Communities 2011

              Applications, in the prescribed format, are invited from the students belonging to minority communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians-Parsis) pursuing technical or professional courses at under graduate/post graduate level in an institution recognized by an appropriate authority, for merit-cum-means based scholarships for the year 2011-12 to be awarded by the ministry of minority affairs, govt of India
Eligibility criteria/conditions:
                 Students, who have got admission in a recognized college/institution to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination

                 Students, who have got admission in a recognized college/institution to pursue technical/professional courses, without facing any competitive examination, will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have scored not less than 50% marks at senior secondary (10+2) graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit

                 A scholarship holder under this scheme will not available of any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course

                 The annual family income of the beneficiary/parents or guardians of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh per annum from all sources

                 Only students residing in Haryana state will be entitled for scholarship. However students who are domicile of Haryana but are studying in institutions/colleges located outside Haryana state will also be eligible

                  30% scholarship will be reserved for girls of each minority community which is transferable to male students of that community in case of non-availability of sufficient female candidates in that community

                  The student/institution should mention the details of bank account number/bank code number (IFSC code) and other such details so that maintenance allowance/course fee can be deposited in his/her/their account. If account number/bank code number is not mentioned in the application form, the scholarship shall not be sanctioned
Rate of scholarship

                   Maintenance allowance (for 10 months only); rate for hosteller- Rs 10,000/- per annum (Rs 1000/- p.m.); rate for day scholar-Rs 5,000/- per annum (Rs 500/- p.m.)

                    Course fee; rate for hosteller-Rs 20,000/- per annum or actual whichever is less; rate for day scholar-Rs 20,000/- per annum or actual whichever is less

                    Full course fee will be reimbursed for eligible institutions

                    The eligible students should apply to the concerned department as detailed below
The applications received after 31st July, 2011 shall be summarily rejected

BOTIX  is a 2 day hands-on workshop that focuses on introducing participants to the world of robotics. Split over 4 sessions participants are introduced to various concepts of robotics in each session and practically implement these concepts towards the end of each session.
